Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday announced her party’s candidates for various posts in 15 local bodies across the State, for which elections are scheduled on May 18.
The posts include deputy mayor of Madurai Corporation. K Thiraviyam, councillor for 23rd ward in Madurai Corporation, is the AIADMK candidate for the deputy mayor post.
The local bodies where elections to some posts are scheduled on May 18 are: Krishnagiri, Tuticorin, Gopichettipalayam, Tiruporur, Perambalur, Devakottai, Thuraiyur, Sivakasi, Nilakottai, Pethanaickenpalayam, Chennai, Thimiri and Pallapalayam. Decisions in this regard were taken at the parliamentary board meeting of the party.
