VELLORE: Vehicular traffic has been diverted near the Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology (TPGIT) on Friday where the counting of votes will take place for the Vellore parliamentary constituency.

According to an official release, as a security measure, the vehicles passing through Vellore city from Chitteri should take the road via Idayansathu and Sivanathapuram as the Thorapadi road near the Women prison would be blocked.

The vehicles of the agents of political parties should be parked near Women prison parade ground and they have to walk up to the counting centre as vehicles are restricted near the centre. This road diversion is only for one day, the release said.
