VILLUPURAM: A love affair came to a happy ending after police intervened and united the agitated parents of the lovers near Gingee on Saturday evening.
Sources said A Emmanuel (35), a diploma holder working as a technician in Dubai for the last three years, had returned to his native Tut Nagar village near Villupuram a year ago.
He developed a physical relationship with his relative Shiney Little Sarah (20), a plus two drop out.
Shiney wanted to marry Emmanuel but he rejected her, saying he would be marry only a well-educated girl.
In spite of several efforts by Shiney to persuade him, Emmanuel stated that he would marry only a nurse or a teacher.
An upset Shiney lodged a complaint with the Gingee all-woman police on Thursday. Following this, police held inquiries and persuaded both the families — that of Emmanuel and Shiney — and they arrived at an amicable solution. On Saturday evening, the couple was married off in a church.
