SALEM: Just a day after Rajanikanth’s new movie Kochadaiiyaan hit the screens, pirated copies of the film reached the market, forcing the superstar’s fans to go all out to stop the illegal sale.

Pallapatti police seized around 500 DVDs of the movie here on Saturday morning after being tipped off by Rajini fans club members. According to sources, the fan club members had been monitoring various CD shops since the movie’s release on Friday.

“On Saturday morning, a fan club member found the movie’s DVDs being sold in a shop near Meyyanur,” a police official said.

After he passed on the information, senior fan club functionaries rushed to the spot even as  shop owners Bhupathi and Mohan fled.

After being alerted, police arrived at the shop and seized the DVDs. According to police, investigations are on to find the source of the DVDs.
