CHENNAI: A writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court to restrain V Ravichandran of Oscar Films Private Limited in Ashok Nagar, from releasing his Tamil feature film ‘Thirumanam Enum Nikkah’.
Justice S Vaidyanathan, before whom the petition from T N Shia Muslim Jamath, by its vice-president Tablez Ali Khan, came up for hearing on Thursday, ordered notice to the City Police Commissioner, Regional Censor Board and Ravichandran, returnable by June 3. Petitioner contended that the film portrayed Muslims in a highly demeaning manner.
