1 Mark Extra Granted to TET Aspirants

Arguing the case of the petitioners, counsel D Shanmugaraja Sethupathi submitted that had the TRB prepared the correct answer key and awarded one mark, the petitioners would have got selected.

MADURAI: Passing orders on a batch of writ petitions seeking to award marks for three questions in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted on October 14, 2012, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to award one mark for question number 33 to the petitioners. All these petitioners had secured 89 marks and an additional mark will help them to qualify for appointment as school teachers.

The petitioners, S Sudha, B Raguraman and A Inthira, contended that even though they had given correct answers (as per the answers given in the Social Science Text Book of Standard VII), published by the TN Text Bo-ok Corporation, they were not awarded marks in resp-ect of question numbers 58 and 33. The TRB had denied the mark to them on the basis of a wrong answer key.
