PUDUCHERRY: The Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday celebrated the 67th birthday of former Union minister, V Narayanasamy by offering prayers at Sri Manakula Vinayagar temple. Special pujas, distribution of sweets and annadanams marked the celebrations while Narayanasamy was not present in the town.
The PCC president A V Subramanian, Leader of the Opposition V Vaithilingam, MLA A Namassivayan, ex-MLA M Kandasamy and other office bearers and functionaries participated in the celebrations.
Meanwhile, the six barricades placed on the road in front of the residence of the former minister was removed. Police said, it was removed at Narayanasamy’s request.
Earlier the barricades were put up on request from the office of Narayanasamy, who was then the minister for PMO, following the detection of a pipe bomb in front of his residence on Jan 29.
