THANJAVUR/TIRUCHY: The ChildLine officials on Friday rescued twin girl children who were allegedly neglected by their parents, and admitted them to the Raja Mirasdar GH for treatment.

Childline received a call that a couple living in Bharathi Nagar were neglecting their 11-month-old twin girls, but were all attentive in bringing up their two-year-old son, who was being fed and looked after well.

ChildLine officials led by P Pathimaraj conducted enquiries at the residence and came to know that Senthil Kumar, father of the children, a goldsmith, and mother Meena had left them under the care of the children’s paternal grandmother, Vasanthi.

The twins were severely malnourished, and ChildLine officials on Friday admitted them to the Raja Mirasudar Hospital for treatment.

In Tiruchy, two female babies, who were left abandoned near Samayapuram and Lalgudi respectively were rescued and admitted to the Srirangam GH.
