Three More Suspended for CENTAC Scam

PUDUCHERRY: Three more Revenue officials were suspended on Tuesday on the charge of issuing   residence certificates to students from other States to enable them join professional courses here under the government quota.

According to official sources, a Deputy Tahsildar, a Revenue Inspector and a Village Administrative Officer were found guilty of issuing  residence certificates to three students. While two students got the certificates based on false documents given by the VAO of Villianur Taluk, another obtained them by producing a forged ration card and elector’s identity card. Sources refused to divulge the names of the officials and said that all of them belonged to  Villianur Taluk office.

It may be noted that earlier, a Deputy Tahsildar, a Revenue Inspector and a VAO were suspended on the same charges. In all, six officials have been suspended so far.
