PUDUCHERRY: The Election Commission of India has ordered a Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls at all the constituencies in the Union Territory of Puducherry, enabling fresh inclusion of voters, who attained 18 years of age with reference to January 1, 2015. According to the Chief Electoral Officer, T Sreekanth, IAS, the draft of voters list will be published in all polling station locations along with the office of electoral registration officers on October 15, 2014.
The period of filing applications for inclusions and objections will be from October 15 to November 10, 2014 on all working days as well as Sundays, which will be special campaign dates. The disposal of claims and objections will be done by November 20, 2014.
Updating of the database, merging of photographs and the printing of supplementary list will be done by December 20, 2014. The final updated electoral rolls will be published on January 5, 2015.
Online applications can be filed by visiting the website, www.ceopondicherry.nic.in. Applicants who would like to include their names or apply for deletion or corrections, will have to fill in and submit the prescribed forms.
