CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Monday thanked Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi and actor Rajinikanth for the sentiments they had expressed in their letters written to her.

The AIADMK chief, in her reply to Maneka Gandhi, said “Your letter dated October 7 touched me deeply. I was especially moved by the fact that, despite your busy schedule as Union Minister, you found the time to think of me and send your heartwarming missive.”
Thanking Maneka Gandhi for her thoughtfulness, Jayalalithaa said “I pray that the Almighty may bless you and your family with all that is good.”
In her reply to actor Rajinikanth, the AIADMK supremo said she was happy to receive his letter. “I thank you for the kind and gracious sentiments expressed therein. I pray that the Almighty may bless you with long life, good health, prosperity and success in all your activities.” She also conveyed her best wishes to all the members of his family.
Maneka Gandhi, in her letter, had expressed her support and sympathy for Jayalalithaa. The Union Minister had said that she would be happy to do anything to make this time less onerous. The BJP leader had also said “this time will be over soon and we will see you formally back at the helm of administration again.” Rajinikanth, a neighbour in the posh Poes Garden, had said he was glad to see Jayalalithaa back in her residence.
