Yaduvanshi Cries Foul, Cites Violation

PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry University Registrar Raajiv Yaduvanshi has alleged that its Vice-Chancellor Chandra Krishnamurthy was running a parallel Registrar office in violation of statutes, thereby making the regular Registrar redundant.

In a letter to the secretary, Department of Higher Education,  Delhi,  a copy of which was released to Express, Raajiv cited the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Paris, Pantheon-Sorbonne and Pondicherry University and said professor Indumathi, who is the director-in-charge (Studies), had signed the agreement/affidavits as Registrar in-charge in lieu of the regular Registrar.

Being aged, V Indumathi (64) cannot hold the post of Registrar in-charge as the age limit was 62 years as per Pondicherry University Statue 4 (2), he said in the letter dated October 25, 2014.

“As per my statutory duty of custodian of records of Pondicherry University under statue 4 (6) (a), I had asked  Indumathi  to hand over all such documents, records, papers signed by her as Registrar-in-charge, she has not done so till date, despite reminders.  However, she replies saying that she is only answerable to the Vice Chancellor,” Yaduvanshi said.
