Unlicensed Explosives Meant for Quarrying Seized in TN

Explosive materials, including gelatin sticks, stocked illegally were seized and one person was arrested in this connection in Mohanur in the district today, police said.

NAMAKKAL: Explosive materials, including gelatin sticks, stocked illegally were seized and one person was arrested in this connection in Mohanur in the district today, police said.

On a tip-off, police found 35 electric detonators, more than 220 gelatin sticks, a battery and fuse wire, kept concealed in a farm.

They arrested 31-year-old Govindan for stocking the explosives for use in quarrying operations without necessary licence, police added.
