PUDUCHERRY: The opposition AIADMK members on Thursday staged a walkout in the Territorial Assembly.
As soon as the Chief Minister N Rangasamy began his Budget speech, AIADMK Legislature Party leader Purushotaman started raising objections against the government with a poster in his hand. When none of the other AIADMK members supported him, he staged a walkout. He called the other four members to join him, but, they remained seated in the Assembly. A minute later, Deputy Floor leader A Anbazhagan got up and protested and thereafter Omsakthi Segar also did the same followed by the four members.
Purushotaman told newspersons outside the House that he had staged the walkout as none of the schemes announced in the last three budgets had been implemented and said the present budget would also end up the same way.
