CMC to Bring ‘Joy of Giving’ to Fort City

VELLORE: The Christian Medical college hospital is organising a ‘Joy of Giving’ celebration, the first of its kind in the Fort city from October 6 to 8.

Director Dr Sunil Thomas Chandy, giving details about the event on Friday, said, “The aim of the celebration is to inculcate the spirit of giving among the locals. We are planning to involve all sections of people including general public, traders, professionals, institutions, school and college students for the event, and to be part of this celebration one can donate cash or take part in an activity or volunteer one’s time.”

While giving examples he said, an auto driver can come forward to give free trips for half a day to poor persons or elderly,  and youngsters such as school or college students could engage themselves in giving a demonstration of road safety, traffic regulations etc in association with local police or they could get down to clean pavements, the director added.
