PUDUCHERRY: AIADMK legislator A Anbazhagan on Friday demanded a white paper from the government on the alleged child sex racket involving schoolgirls.

In a special mention during Zero Hour in the Assembly, Anbazhagan alleged that a gang had forced schoolgirls into prostitution which has resulted in a minor girl giving birth to a child and another girl becoming pregnant. Even eight police personnel including a sub-inspector has been placed under suspension in connection with the case, which is indicative of police connection in the case. He said there has been reports of alleged connection of politicians as well who are stated to be actual people behind the racket.

The legislator added that the government should come out with all facts revealed by investigation. Moreover, an independent inquiry should be ordered under a retired judge or a female judge.

Meanwhile, K Lakshminarayanan (Congress) also in a special mention pointed out the flaws in renovation of the 200-year-old  botanical gardens and said importance should be given to the trees. The tourism plans should be restricted, he said.
