Will Take Up PU Reservation with MHRD: CM

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister N Rangasamy said the government would approach Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and Pondicherry University to secure a 25 per cent reservation of seats in all courses in Pondicherry University for the students of Puducherry.

Replying to a query from PML Kalyanasundaram (AINRC), he said at present 25 per cent reservation was being provided in 18 post-graduate courses conducted by the university. The reservation to all courses was under consideration and as soon as an approval from MHRD was obtained a final decision would be taken. The university was also providing fee structure to the students to enable them to get educational loans. .

He also said as many as 271 people who gave their land for the university were provided jobs in the university and another 40 applications were awaiting the nod of the MHRD, he said.
