JIPMER Gets Resource Centre Tag

PUDUCHERRY: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), government of India, has designated the JIPMER as the regional resource centre (RRC) for 160 medical colleges in the South -  Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry - under the national knowledge network (NKN) and the national medical college network (NMCN) of telemedicine.

Using the NKN connectivity, JIPMER has been live-telecasting teaching sessions/continuing medical education/conference/workshops/seminars/medical quiz etc to 160 medical colleges across South and  AIIMS-Jodhpur, AIIMS-Raipur and Post Graduate Institute of Dr RML Hospital Delhi regularly free of cost, according to a statement.

This solves the problem of acute shortage of medical teachers by allowing one teacher to share his lecture with many students at a time. These teaching sessions can be viewed on mobiles, tablets, laptops and desktop .
