CHENNAI: CBI filed a chargesheet against P Vijayan, former vice-chancellor of Indian Maritime University and his wife Anitha in a disproportionate assets case.
CBI sources told Express that the chargesheet was filed on Tuesday. Vijayan is facing charges of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.The case against Vijayan, who was the first vice-chancellor of the university, was registered in 2011. CBI had forwarded a request to the Shipping Ministry to act against him. However, since clearance was not given, no action was initiated.
