Union Minister Seeks JIPMER Assistance

PUDUCHERRY : Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan has sought the assistance of JIPMER in developing  a state-of-the-art  integrated, holistic model for health care by integrating the medical professionals.

Delivering his address during the golden jubilee celebrations at JIPMER, the Minister said  infant mortality still remained high even after 67 years of independence, with the country having lost 1.4 million children so far. Though several diseases have been eradicated, malaria, tuberculosis, among others, need to be rooted out.

He appealed to JIPMER to take up the challenge and start thinking  out of the box to address the issues.
