Drive to License and Vaccinate Dogs

PUDUCHERRY: Pondicherry Municipality began a drive for licensing and vaccinating  dogs near the old bus stand on Sunday. As many as 60 pet dogs were given licence and administered  anti rabies vaccine. Besides another 60 stray and street  dogs  were also vaccinated.

The municipality is planning to come up with a database of licensed dogs and ensure that they are vaccinated. Several people forget to vaccinate their dogs on time and they would be reminded the due date through SMS, said Veterinary doctor Dr Kumaran. Some keep pet without obtaining licence and the Municipality has been stressing on getting licence.
