CHENNAI:DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Monday alleged that the Union government’s announcement to set up a ‘Ram Museum’ at Ayodhya is a bid to revive the Ayodhya controversy in the country.

Writing in his customary question and answer piece in the party organ ‘Murasoli’, he said Central Ministers were making controversial statements every day and the announcement of Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma to set up a ‘Ram Museum’ at Ayodhya was one among them. Archaeological Department head Rakesh Tiwari too had assured to provide all possible help for the project.

The DMK leader recalled the law and order problems caused by the Ayodhya controversy and alleged that the BJP was carrying forward the RSS agenda of creating disputes over Ayodhya, Mathura and Kasi.

While endorsing the health benefits of yoga, Karunanidhi said CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury’s charge that the International Yoga Day was only a part of the Hindutva agenda should not be ignored.

Referring to the allegations of former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju on the present Chief Justice of India, he said that those who knew the truth should not remain dumb because common people are entitled to know the truth as well.
