Hearing Put off in Flesh Trade Case

PUDUCHERRY:The Principal District and Sessions court has posted for June 30 the hearing in the flesh trade racket case in which minor girls were exploited. It may be be recalled that the Criminal Investigation Department of Puducherry Police had filed the chargesheet against eight police personnel and one retired cop in the case, which was registered on April 11, 2014. The racket came to light after two minor victims approached Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and complained about sexual abuse. The accused took videos of the girls and threatened them with the clippings. The involvement of police personnel came to light following an identification parade held based on the orders of the Madras High Court. The nine cops identified by the victims were dismissed from service.
