CHENNAI: All open category seats in government colleges were filled up on the second day of counselling held for MBBS and BDS courses for general category on Sunday, during which 575 seats were allotted in both government and private colleges.

As many as 588 candidates attended counselling during the day, of which 580 showed up. Out of them, 575 candidates were allotted seats - 546 in government colleges and 29 seats in private colleges.

“Of the 580, five were placed on a waiting list as they could not obtain admission in any government medical college as seats in the OC category were taken.
