CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa will be campaigning in RK Nagar Assembly constituency today (June 22) for the by-election on June 27.

The AIADMK chief will begin her campaign from the statue of her political mentor and party founder MG Ramachandran, near the petrol bunk in Kasimedu. She will be addressing the people at two places - Tiruvotriyur highway junction and Ennore highway junction.

She will be canvassing for votes while passing through nine important places. She is scheduled to go through Suryanarayana Chetty street, Veeraraghavan street, Tiruvotriyur highway, Cross Road Junction, Arunachaleswarar temple street, Vaidyanathan road and Vaidyanathan junction, Ennore highway (Railway Crossing) and would end her campaign at Manali Road Ezhil Nagar.

As many as 28 candidates including  J Jayalalithaa, C Mahendran (CPI), ‘Traffic‘ Ramaswamy, J Mohanraj (Jebamani Janata), UK Manimaran (Tamil Manila Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), R Abraham Raj Mohan (People’s Party of India -Secular), are in the fray.
