Online Drive for Army Jobs a Big Hit in TN

The country’s first online recruitment rally for the Army has received overwhelming response, according to Colonel Avinash D Pitre.

VELLORE: The country’s first online recruitment rally for the Army has received overwhelming response, according to Colonel Avinash D Pitre, director of recruiting office (Headquarters), Chennai. The screening process of those who applied will be held at Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium in Puducherry between September 4 and 13.

The last date applying online for the Puducherry rally is August 19.  The candidates must register and apply on the official website - www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

“We have received a thumping response from the aspirants, particularly from rural youth, from Tamil Nadu. We are receiving around 1,000 applications per day. So far, we have received around 10,000 applications and 50 per cent of them are from Vellore district,” said Col Pitre at a press conference on Wednesday.

 “The candidates can also use mobile app ‘ArmyCalling’ for information. They can also use the feedback option in www.joininindianarmy.nic.in and they can use the same option to complaint about touts and agents with specific information. We will take action based on the information from the candidates,” said Col Pitre and stated that army recruitment is a free service and candidates should not pay anyone for it. Call letter or admit card and instructions would be communicated to the candidates through their registered e-mail id or mobile number from August 20 to September 2.
