TNSTC Honours Best Performers

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) distributed cash awards to drivers, conductors and ticket examiners.

COIMBATORE:The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) distributed cash awards to drivers, conductors and ticket examiners for their exemplary performance, as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The children of TNSTC employees, who scored top marks in SSLC and Plus Two exams were also felicitated.

The drivers were awarded for fuel-efficient driving, conductors for maximum revenue generation and ticket examiners for collecting more fine from those who travelled without tickets.

The TNSTC has been motivating its drivers to cut down on fuel consumption and keep a mileage of five to six km per litre.

V Thirumoorthi from Annur depot won the first place for fuel-efficient driving with 6.52 km/per litre; Velmurugan of Ondipudur depot came second with 6.34 km/l and Arul Murugan from Ukkadam depot won the third place with 5.69 km/l.

From Erode division, D Ramesh, C Vasu were the toppers with 7.30 and 6.33 km/l respectively. In the hill regions of Erode, Sivakumar, C Ashirvadam and A Anguraj won with 6.68, 6.58 and 5.73 km/l. In Ooty division, Shiva Elangovan, Velliraj and AB Kumar won with 5.47, 5.42 and 4.16 km/l.

S Shankar of Ooty division and Prakash V of Madurai division won special award for rescuing the life of passengers in a critical situation. Shankar had quickly diverted the bus when a big rock came rolling down a hill towards the bus at Gudalur and Prakash had quickly moved the bus after seeing a big tree getting uprooted at Paravai near Madurai.

Conductor R Venkatesan won the first place for collecting Rs 17,305 as revenue from tickets while 17 other conductors were awarded for good revenue collection. The awards were distributed by Managing Director of TNSTC, Coimbatore Division, S Manimuthu.
