CHENNAI: In what could be yet another case of a fake lawyer, Madras High Court directed the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to probe into the allegations against an advocate who had reportedly given as many as 40 enrolment numbers.

Justice S Vaidyanathan directed the Bar Council to file a report to the Registrar General of the court, which in turn could be placed before the Chief Justice for suitable action. The issue was brought to light while he was hearing anticipatory bail applications filed by S Arumugam and three others.
