VELLORE: A cell phone and two SIM cards were seized from one of the death-row convicts convicted in the Dharmapuri bus burning case during a raid on Saturday.
According to sources, the prison department personnel conducted a raid in the cell of Muniappan (aged about 58 years) following the direction of the DIG of Prisons V H Mohammed Haneef. During the raid, they seized a mobile phone and two SIM Cards from him.
The prison authorities filed a case with the Bagayam Police against Muniappan.
It may be recalled that the prison authorities seized a cell phone, SIM Card and battery from Nedunchezhian, who is also one of the death-row convicts in the same case, a week ago.
