UDHGAMANDALAM: A pastor was arrested today on charges of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl over a period of time in nearby Kotagiri, police said.
Pastor Aruldas was running a prayer hall in Nilgiris District and after seeing the plight of a devotee, with three girl children, he advised her to send one girl with him on the promise of giving her education, police said.
When the devotee went to meet the daughter today, she told her about the sexual assault and torture by the pastor following which a complaint was lodged with the police.
The girl was taken for medical examination at the Government Hospital here, which proved that she was sexually assaulted, based on which Aruldas was arrested.
