Fresh Alert as 'Naxals' Found in TN Forests

MADURAI:The Q-Branch police have issued a fresh alert to eight districts in the State and the STF in Sathyamangalam after movement of suspected Naxals were reported from the Nilgiris.

In a memorandum issued by the Q-Branch a couple of days ago, sleuths claimed that four armed Naxals, including a woman, in uniform were spotted in the Manjoor police limits, roughly seven kilometres from the

anti-poaching watchers (APW) camp in the Mukurthi forest area under Tamil Nadu limits.

The alert claimed that the suspected Naxals were spotted by forest officials from Kerala and a wildlife photographer from the buffer zone in the Silent Valley in that state.

The warning has been sent to the districts of Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Coimbatore and The Nilgris and also the STF urging them to intensify the surveillance on borders in their respective areas.
