4-year Girl Wins National Blitz Chess Tourney

PUDUCHERRY: Four-year-old K Kamalini Haradhana Nimban won the gold medal in the first all India FIDE Blitz Rating Chess Tournament 2015 held in Goa recently. Kamalini, daughter of Karthikeyan and Madharasi, residents of Vaithikuppam, was the youngest participant in the tournament in which she played against competitors older to her.

An LKG student of the Sri Sankara Vidyalaya High School, Kamalini was trained by Sivakumar of Sri Sathya Sai Chess Academy. She had earlier participated in the national school chess championship, where she won many accolades.
