CHENNAI:Taking exception to the remarks of TMC founder G K Vasan over the appointment of Motilal Vora as a trustee of the TNCC Trust, TNCC president E V K S Elangovan on Saturday said, “It would be nice if Vasan does not interfere in our party affairs.”
Earlier in the day, Vasan had said that only Congress high command knew why Vora was appointed as one of the trustees. Elangovan said, “Let him concentrate on his party affairs.”
Elangovan said that Congress’ prospects for the Tamil Nadu assembly polls in 2016 looked bright.
Commenting that the BJP would suffer a similar ignominy in 2016 as it suffered during the Delhi polls, Elangovan said Congress’ rout in the same polls was a matter of great concern. But BJP’s thrashing counterweighed that disappointment.
Earlier, commenting on SL president Sirisena’s impending visit of India, Elangovan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should emphasise on his counterpart to implement the resolution adopted by the Northern Provincial Council led by C V Wigneswaran.
“It is an undeniable fact that thousands of Tamils were murdered and Modi must insist that they initiate UN-led enquiry,” he said.
