TIRUNELVELI: A hot run will be done at Unit-2 of the Koondankulam N-plant from Saturday, said R S Sundar, KKNPP Site Director.
In a press note, Sundar said that KKNPP Unit-1 was generating 1000 MWe and had produced 462 crore units so far. Unit-2 got clearance for a ‘Hot Run’ from the AERB on February 26.
The site director said that during the hot run test, the steam flow path and steam relief devices would be checked. Only steam (water vapour) will be released into the atmosphere for just 2-3 minutes. During the test, the noise level was likely to increase slightly.
