MADURAI:Choosing the right course and college is the toughest part in an engineering student’s life, but a website www.tneahelp.in being run by two ‘tech-savy’ siblings from the city is making the tedious process easy for them.

The website is providing information about the engineering colleges available in Tamil Nadu for the past five years. “It was difficult for me to choose between numerous options before I settled for Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics and Electrical Engineering) at Guindy Engineering College, Anna University,” said T J Raghunath Babu, Co-founder of the website. “Having crossed the tricky phase, I and my elder brother T J Ramanath Babu, doing Ph.D from Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, wanted to start the online portal to guide the candidates and help them”, said Raghunath.

The site provides useful information about the ‘cut-off’ marks needed for studying certain engineering courses in the colleges, counselling organised by Anna University and also general information about the colleges.

The students need to key in their ‘cut-off’ marks, College-finder option in the portal would give information about the courses available in the colleges and the ‘cut-off’ marks needed for enrolment. It would provide details about the colleges district wise and also the counselling college code and general information like distance from district headquarters and nearby railway station, he added.

Even the users can get additional information about the counselling trends.
