SIVAGANGA:District Judge Thangakani on Tuesday awarded three life terms to 11 persons in connection with a triple murder case.
According to sources, the Judge awarded life imprisonment to Arjunan, his sons Agniraj, Suresh and Sathiyaraj, and Panpandi, Sivakumar, Yoganathan, Vijayakumar, Karanthamalai, Ganeshan and Jayakumar.
Police said that Kathiresan (45), AIADMK youth wing district secretary, and his two children - Prasanna (12) and Nikila (7) - were returning from their native, Pakayanchanu, in a car driven by Bhuminathan when a gang attacked them. Kathiresan, Prasanna and Bhuminathan were killed in the attack. Investigation revealed that previous enmity between Kathiresan and Arjunan was the reason behind the murder. Though police registered a case against 21 persons, the court released 10 others later.
