CHENNAI: The TMC, which has been hopeful of getting into the AIADMK-led alliance for facing Assembly elections, is now forced to join the DMDK-PWA since the DMK had already shut its doors on it.

The leaders of the DMDK-PWA had been reiterating that their invitation to TMC still remains. Among the leaders of the DMDK-PWA it has been clarified that if the TMC comes to the alliance, the seats for that alliance should be allocated from the share of DMDK (124 seats).

Sources said already the DMDK is in touch with the TMC leadership and the roping in of TMC may be made at the election campaign meeting of the DMDK-PWA scheduled for April 10 at Mamandur.

A senior leader of the TMC said Vasan would take stock of the situation with the party leaders today (April 5) on the next course of action to be taken. A section of the TMC leaders feel that the negotiations with the AIADMK could be reopen and by ‘give and take’ moves, firm up the alliance.
