DMDK Rebels' 'Parallel' Meet to Counter Captain

The DMDK rebels have called for a ‘parallel' meeting on April 10, to counter the Executive Committee meet called by party founder Vijayakant. It is a clear indication of the rebels moving towards running a splinter group of the DMDK.  

CHENNAI: The DMDK rebels have called for a ‘parallel' meeting on April 10, to counter the Executive Committee meet called by party founder Vijayakant. It is a clear indication of the rebels moving towards running a splinter group of the DMDK.  
In a joint statement here, the 10 DMDK rebels have requested all their supporters to assemble at EVP Rajeswari Kalyana Mandapam near Soundarapandian Bazaar in T Nagar. A dissident leader, CH Sekar, MLA, told Express that they had been receiving hundreds of calls from DMDK functionaries and cadre across the State expressing their solidarity with them. "We will seek their views and chalk out the next course of action on April 10," he said.
