Kausalya at Convention on Honour Killing

COIMBATORE: Slain Dalit youth Shankar’s widow Kausalya inaugurated the Convention Against Honour Killings here on Sunday.

Kausalya had come with her brother-in-law Vigneswaran, but refused to interact with mediapersons. Vigneswaran said Kausalya had suffered complications from the injuries she had suffered. At a private hospital,  they found that one of the sutures used to stitch her wound when she was first admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital was left intact. “This resulted in an infection, causing her severe headaches,” he said. He said the police had scaled down protection offered to the family in the weeks following the murder. Also, those responsible for sending a threatening letter had not yet been arrested.
