Many Throng Mangaladevi Kannagi Shrine

A large number of devotees from both Tamil Nadu and Kerala thronged the Mangaladevi Kannagi Temple.

THENI: A large number of devotees from both Tamil Nadu and Kerala thronged the Mangaladevi Kannagi Temple on the occasion of Chithra Pournami on Friday.Located in the reserve forests of Kerala bordering TN, the access to the 2000-year-old temple is allowed only once a year during Chithra Pournami, the full moon day in the month of Chithirai.

Many devotees from TN reached the temple by foot from Paliankudi near Lower Camp, though several jeeps were operated to transport people to the place of worship from Kumili.

Kerala forest officials conducted vehicle check at various places between Angadi junction and temple area.
