BJP Man Held over Social Media Post

Chennai: The Chitlapakkam police on Friday arrested BJP Labour Wing secretary Kalyana Raman (50) for allegedly posting a message against a minority community on a social networking site last month. Condemning the arrest, BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan charged the police with being intolerant. “If sharing a difference of opinion is offensive, then where should the line of freedom of expression be drawn,” she asked. A plaint against Kalyana Raman was filed by the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi on December 30.
