Puducherry Electorate Witnesses Increase in Voters

Electorate of Puducherry gone up to 9,27,128 voters from 8,97,516 voters on September 15, 2015, as per the final voters list.

PUDUCHERRY: The electorate of Puducherry Union territory has gone up to 9,27,128 voters from the draft electorate of 8,97,516 voters on September 15, 2015, as per the final voters list released by the respective District Election Officers of Puducherry and Karaikal districts,  D Manikandan  and E Vallavan respectively today.

The trend of women outnumbering men continued this year too with 4,85, 886  women voters and 441168 men voters . The 74 third Gender voters have also gone up to 74 from 42 in the draft roll by the Chief Electoral officer V Candavelou today.

Following summary revision there has been a net addition of 29,612 voter as compared to  12185 voters in 2015 , said Candavelou.  Among them are 30,431  fresh voters which includes 15,721 men and 14,710 female voters . While a total of 40881 (4.55 percent) voters have been admitted, 11,269 (1.25 percent ) have been deleted.

Ozhukarai emerged as the largest constituency with  36,369 voters , followed by Yanam with 36,268 and Villianur with 35,970 . The smallest constituency is Orleampet with 23,978 voters, followed by Raj Bhavan with 25,497 and Ouppalam  with 26,542 voters.

The final electoral roll, 2016 will be displayed for seven days from Jan 11 in all polling stations and in the office of Electoral Registration officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers for public inspection as well in the website of the CEO www.ceopuducherry.py.gov.in . There will be continuous updation of the Electoral list from Tuesday till the last day of nomination  by contestants in order to facilitate the  left out voters  to enroll their names and those who might migrate to Puducherry henceforth .
