'Beep Song' Director Appears Before Cops

COIMBATORE: Music director, Anirudh Ravichander appeared before the Race Course police on late Monday night, and submitted a written statement to the police under section 61 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Speaking to Express, one of his attorneys, said that as the High Court had directed actor Silambarasan to appear before the police by the month-end, Ravichander had also done so out of his own accord.

The city police had sent summons to both men for the release of the controversial “Beep Song” on a video streaming website. After protests by women’s rights groups who claimed that the song was sexist and derogatory towards women, the city police registered a case against Silambarasan and Ravichander under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and also the Information Technology Act.
