All Options on the Table, says BJP

Ganesan doesn’t rule out alliance with Dravidian parties; says Jayalalithaa alone has strength to go it alone

NAMAKKAL :With the State slowly plunging into poll mode, senior leader of BJP L Ganesan said his party could not rule out forging an alliance with either of the Dravidian majors in the upcoming general elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly.

Talking to reporters at Rasipuram near here on Monday, he said his party was in touch with those parties which were part of NDA during the Lok Sabha elections to forge alliance to fight the Assembly polls due in a few months. “We have been talking to all the parties that were part of NDA during the LS polls. We are making all the efforts to take all these parties on board for Assembly elections,” Ganesan told. Referring to a prospective chief ministerial candidate of the alliance, he stated although certain parties were projecting their candidates, it was a matter to decide after the polls.

In spite of projecting the alliance to be formed by BJP as an alternative force to Dravidian majors, Ganesan said his party could not rule out having electoral truck with either of them. “At this time, we cannot rule out the possibilities for forging alliance with either AIADMK or DMK”, he said. He added that only the AIADMK had the guts to say that it would face elections single handedly while the other parties were searching for potential allies.
