DMK's Poll Drive to Peg on Prohibition

NAGERCOIL: The main focus of DMK’s election campaign will be total prohibition, said DMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi in Nagercoil on Monday. She was here to participate in party cadres meeting held in various places in the district.

Earlier Kanimozhi visited the former DMK MP Professor Sankaralingam’s house in Therekalputhoor in the district and garlanded his portrait. Later while talking to media persons Kanimozhi said that both the state and central governments did not bring anything good to Tamilnadu people. Tamilnadu fishermen are being continuously attacked and no steps have been taken till date to stop the attacks on Tamil fishermen, she said. Earlier during DMK rule Karunanidhi used to talk with Centre and used to free Tamil fishermen and their boats. Karunanidhi used to tell that with opinion poll results, success and defeat could not be decided. But in general opinion polls are the perceptions of people’s reflection, she said.
