TIRUCHY: Farmers in delta districts have been facing issues in getting labourers, thanks to demonetisation of D500 and D1,000 notes. The work to pluck weeds from Samba paddy fields has been affected as the workers want farmers to show them D100 notes that would be paid to them even before starting the field work. “For the last three days, it has been like that,” said Guru Gobiganesan, a farmer.
