Mass transfer of babus in Tiruchy railway division

IN a major reshuffle of railway official belonging to various categories of the commercial section of Tiruchy Railway Division, at least 301 employees were transferred to various other destinations.

THANJAVUR:IN a major reshuffle of railway official belonging to various categories of the commercial section of Tiruchy Railway Division, at least 301 employees were transferred to various other destinations. After a report from the vigilance department that several staff working in the category of TTEs, enquiry-cum-reservation clerk and commercial clerk were all not being periodically transferred due to the unions and were also at the same station for at least 12 years, which prompted the administration to transfer.  The transfers have irked the union members who allege that the transfers were carried out without consulting them.

Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs), enquiry-cum reservation clerk (EREC) and commercial clerk (CE) were the three categories in which the transfer took place at the Tiruchy  Railway Division. A senior official from the Commercial Department here said “The transfers were all periodical and most of them were made on request after carefully scrutinising their seniority. The employees were maximum transferred to their favourable destinations. With no transfers taking place for a long time there was an imbalance persisting in the workforce utilisation across the division, however, it has now been restored”.
The workforce was heavy in major stations like Tiruchy, Puducherry and other bigger ones, however, none was willing to work in stations such as Nagapattinam and Adiyakamangalam, which will all be sorted out now.
