CHENNAI: Fighting to capitalise on the volatile political circumstances in State, DMK working president M K Stalin on Friday said his father M Karunanidhi would have changed the political scene had he been in sound health.

Speaking at a function at the DMK headquarters to greet  former minister 'Arcot' N Veerasamy on his 80th birthday, he said, "Had our leader been active, he would have changed the political scenario." 'Arcot' Veerasamy, a trusted Lieutenant of DMK patriarch, would have been a tool for executing the plans of Karunanidhi to bring in the change, he added.

PMK youth wing leader and Lok Sabha Member  Anbumani Ramadoss, described Veerasamy as the 'iron man' of DMK. The former minister's son Kalanidhi was a classmate of Anbumani.

Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy, DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan, president of Dravidar Kazhagam K Veeramani, former TNCC president EVKS Elangovan and DMK  RS member Kanimozhi also spoke at the event.
