CHENNAI: Two persons have been arrested by the Kancheepuram police for raping a 14-year old last year who delivered her baby at a hospital on Sunday.
According to police, Krishnan, 55, had promised chocolates to the minor girl grazing her cattle, took her to a forest and raped her. “He threatened the girl not to tell anybody about it. Krishnan who lived with his daughter and son- in-law would wait for them to leave home and bring the girl home and rape her which continued for many days,” said a police officer.

“Later Krishnan’s son-in-law came to know about this and he also started blackmailing and sexually abused the girl,” said the police officer.
The girl who remained silent later became pregnant and told her mother when she was six months pregnant.

“The mother tried to convince the doctor to abort the baby but they refused considering the risk involved due to the age. On Sunday, the victim got her labour pain and delivered the baby at the government hospital,” said the officer.
Subsequently,  the Kancheepuram police arrested the man and his son-in-law in Thursday.
