CHENNAI: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated two fish landing centres in Ramanathapuram district, a sub-registrar office at Rayakottai in Krishnagiri district, sub-treasury office buildings at Srirangam and Thiruverumbur and buildings for Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences University (TANUVAS) and Dairy Development Department through video conferencing at the Secretariat on Friday.  

An official media note here stated that while the fish landing centre at Dhanuskodi had been set up for `8 crore, the one at T Mariyur cost `3.9 crore. At the Dhanuskodi fish landing centre, 30 mechanised boats could be placed and the fish could be moved to the auction centre. Around 2,000 people would get direct and indirect employment through this facility.

The fish landing centre at T Mariyur would enable nearly 1,700 fishermen families to go to sea comfortably and complete their fishing activities.
The new building for the Centre for Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine at TANUVAS had been built for `6.48 crore, while the sub-treasury office buildings at Srirangam and Thiruverumbur were constructed at a cost of `1.2 crore, the media note stated.

The Chief Minister also opened a sub-registrar office at Rayakottai in Krishnagiri, sub-treasury buildings at Srirangam and Thiruver- umbur and some other buildings for TANUVAS
